“Create Your Own Website and Blog Using Word Press” will be the much-requested topic of a series of three classes starting Monday, Feb. 8, co-sponsored by the Cary Chamber of Commerce and the Small Business Center of Wake Tech Community College. These 3-hour workshops at the Western Wake Tech campus on Kildaire Farm Road in Cary, will comprise set-up, editing and promotion of a blog-based website.

Presented by social media expert Martin Brossman (pronetworkingonline.com) and Web designer Andrew Hill (intotheinternet.com), this business-oriented series will provide hands-on instruction for building a working web site and blog that can be self-maintained. A working knowledge of the internet is a prerequisite for participants.

“We have found that many small business owners want a simple, low-cost website that they can easily update on their own,” says Brossman. “Andrew Hill and I are joining forces to teach a practical method of accomplishing a content management site using the popular open source software of Word Press, as well as how to drive traffic to the site.”

Originally slotted to begin Feb. 1, the class dates have been revised due to weather closings. The second class is scheduled for Feb. 15, with third class on March 8. Further details are available at the Wake Tech site: http://smallbusinesscenter.waketech.edu/
