The North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants held its 71st Annual Symposium this week at the Grandover Resort & Conference Center in Greensboro, NC, with a November 17th agenda that included a session by Martin Brossman on “Social Networking: Building an Effective Online Presence.” The popular topic of online networking and how to optimize it provided a new perspective in the symposium’s general and concurrent sessions which traditionally focus on areas of accounting, taxation, technology and professional services.
The NCACPA ( http://www.ncacpa.org/ ) leaders and staff are dedicated to monitoring changes within the profession and connecting their more than 13,000 members with the resources they need. This year’s symposium was well-attended, and about 150 attendees sat in on Martin Brossman’s Social Networking session, many commenting on the value of the information.
“I greatly appreciated this opportunity to address social networking as it applies to professional organizations like NCACPA,” Brossman said. “It’s important that associations and their membership have a solid Web presence. My objective is to guide professional groups and individuals in utilizing the Web in the best possible way, choosing the appropriate platforms for effective networking opportunities and maximizing their online presence for career advancement.”
