Keynoter Doug McVadon Addresses ACUP
The New Realities of the University Press
Nationally known public speaker Doug McVadon brings insights and context to the economic realities facing university presses in his keynote address to the Association of College and University Printers. The 45th ACUP conference will be held April 11th through April 15th at the Doubletree Hotel Charlotte Airport.
Passionate about learning and people, McVadon is known for his extraordinary ability to connect with groups. The Dorrier Underwood management consultant has conducted leadership programs for clients in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Sharing his friendly humor and business expertise, McVadon will reveal new perspectives on industry issues, and staying relevant in the age of modern communication. His talk, “When Facts are Better than Dreams: Motivated by Reality,” examines response to industry challenges, and opens thoughts to new ideas and outcomes.
A veteran newsman, McVadon began his career in broadcast radio news, then moved into television as an anchor, producer, and news director.
ACUP is an international association representing hundreds of universities and colleges throughout the United States, Great Britain, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. ACUP 2010 is hosted by Central Piedmont Community College, UNC Wilmington, Duke University, and Johnson C. Smith University.
