RALEIGH, N.C. (November 1, 2010) – Chris Cimino, owner of SalesPro Connect and Simplify Realty, today
announced that the first annual “Connect: The Black and White Affair” will be hosted November 16 in Raleigh.
The event will bring together the Triangle’s most powerful networking groups and individuals, encouraging people
to have a fun night out getting to know each other, while doing something good for the community. Event proceeds will benefit two Triangle-based nonprofit organizations, Striving for More and Pretty In Pink Foundation.
Striving for More (www.striving4more.org) is a Triangle-based nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that
children with cancer and their families receive quality emotional and spiritual support. Its programs benefit children
and families treated at both UNC Children’s Hospital and Duke Children’s Hospital.
Pretty in Pink Foundation (www.prettyinpinkfoundation.org) headquartered in Raleigh and established on the
principal mission of ensuring that quality, life-saving medical treatment in the form of surgery, chemotherapy and
radiation therapy is available to uninsured and underinsured breast cancer patients residing in North Carolina,
regardless of their ability to pay.
“Connect: The Black and White Affair” will be held from 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at Solas (419 Glenwood Ave,
Raleigh) and will feature live music, amazing desserts and surprise celebrity bartenders. Guests are encouraged to
wear black and white cocktail attire. Tickets are $20 each, and can be purchased by visiting
www.ConnectRaleigh.com or www.striving4more.org/page/connect. If you are unable to attend the event but wish
to make a tax-deductible contribution that will be split between these two wonderful organizations, visit

“We want for the evening to be about having fun, getting to know new people and establishing relationships -- all
while benefitting two charities that are very important to our community,” said Chris Cimino. “With the success of
the event, women and children in the Triangle battling cancer will be directly and positively impacted.”
About Striving for More
Striving for More is a Triangle-based nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that children with cancer and
their families receive quality emotional and spiritual support. The organization was founded by Diane Moore in
2008 after her nine-year-old daughter, Colleen, lost her battle with cancer. During her daughter’s illness, Diane
found that emotional and spiritual support services for children with cancer are under-funded, particularly when
hospitals are competing for limited resources. Striving for More is dedicated to encouraging and funding quality
psychosocial services, so that every child with cancer receives the critical support they need. For more
information, please visit www.striving4more.org or www.facebook.com/strivingformore.
