Spring Fling for the Cure is a fundraiser to benefit the 2010 Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure. The event will be held on Thursday, May 13th, 6-9pm at the clubhouse of The Heritage Golf Club in Wake Forest. Attendees will enjoy a fashion show, raffle, and shopping from 14 vendors who are donating products and services that pamper clients.

Spring Fling for the Cure was created by Stephanie Lee and Carrie Schlegel. Schlegel is a personal trainer dedicated to women's fitness, and a representative of Thirty-One Gifts (mythirtyone.com/schlegel). Lee has been a supporter of the Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure since 2000. She and her husband have either walked or volunteered many times, and plan to walk this November if she can raise the $2300 entrance donation. "The purpose of the Spring Fling is to pamper the attendees while bringing awareness to women's health and the Susan G. Komen ongoing commitment to curing breast cancer," says Lee, who is a distributor for Homemade Gourmet.

The fashion show will start at 7:00 pm and repeat at 7:30 pm. It will feature the top fashions for Spring, including how to easily turn each "day" look into an "evening" look. Kate Leser, Raleigh's own fashion consultant and owner of A Distinctive Image, is hosting the show, donating her services in honor of her mom whom she lost to breast cancer four years ago. Clothing and models for the show are being donated by Gigi's Boutique (shopgigisboutique.com).

One of the participating vendors is Gale Donovan, whose personal experience with breast cancer and radiation treatment inspired her to found Renewing You, through which she creates and sells products specially designed for soothing radiation-burned skin. Her product line was recently approved by doctors at BreastCancer.org. Read more at renewing-you.com.

Spring Fling for the Cure vendors include Thirty-One Gifts, Gold Home Parties, Rodan & Fields, Lia Sophia, Jockey Person to Person, Mary Kay, Holly by Golly, Total Spa, Southern Living, Stella & Dot, PartyLite, Homemade Gourmet, A Distinctive Image, and Gigi's Boutique. Attendees are encouraged to earn money for shopping by bringing gold, silver, and platinum items to sell to Gold Home Parties.

About Stephanie Lee
Stephanie Lee and her husband, Victor, are committed to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk for the Cure. In just the first 3 years they participated (2000-2003), they witnessed remarkable advances in breast cancer therapy options. Stephanie raised $15,000 dollars through her walks during those early years. Then, they also served seven other events across the country as members of the volunteer crew, which is almost as hard as walking and raising funds. Stephanie recently began a business distributing Homemade Gourmet seasonings and mixes, a direct sales product she is passionate about. She plans to donate her profits to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk. Read more at homemadegourmet.com/stephanieradlee.
