In a report this week, there were 6,240 personal bankruptcies in the first quarter, down about 7.2 percent from the quarter before and up just 0.6 percent from the first quarter of 2009, the Fed found. The number of N.C. mortgages with payments more than 90 days past due went down about 0.1 percentage point to 4.1 percent in the first quarter. This is the first decline since early 2008.
"Real Estate in the post-recession world is no cake walk. For every report saying things are looking up, there is a pundit saying how difficult the next decade could be." says Gary.
